Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 series might provide a partial solution, yet uncertainties remain. At CES 2026, the firm unveiled the Snapdragon X2 Plus, a streamlined variant of its X2 Elite platform featuring a six-core CPU. Theoretically, it should deliver comparable power to the A18 Pro, but Qualcomm appears not to have mass-produced the chip, and Windows OEMs have displayed limited enthusiasm. At publication time, the company's site shows only four models with X2 Plus, with just one—the $1,050 HP Omnibook 5—readily available. It includes an OLED display and more RAM than the Neo. Could HP adapt the Omnibook 5 to rival the Neo? Possibly, but circumventing the 16GB requirement for smooth Windows 11 operation seems unlikely.
